Lawyer, mom, perpetually anxious about life, the planet, the country.
I would never! I barely used salt...

That was basically my strategy. But put it in a crunchy mass-produced corn product, and suddenly it is "too ethnic." I mean, I ate these almost exact things growing up in the Midwest in the 70's (though my mom, a good cook, used some spices).

I once made "tacos" for my Irish American FIL - PLAIN ground beef with shredded cheddar and iceberg lettuce in an Ortega shell. That's it. He never quite got over my attempt to serve him "spicy ethnic" food and that side of the family talked about it for years.

My brother and I get into a fight with our mom every year at Thanksgiving (and Christmas). Every single year. My kids have now proposed a betting pool on which topic will start the fireworks.

I haven't read the articles but would like to see details. Have the funds been donated? To where? Where are the funds coming from for the demolition? Who hired the crew? What are they doing about the big hole? I am not remotely a contractor but even I know you have to do more planning than this.

Temple Grandin is 78. Or maybe she doesn't have "full-blown autism."

This is how fast I changed my spending.

Just adored this show with all my heart. I see this picture now and think - it's Cleon and Marcella and they were just babies.

Well, if we are collecting anecdotes, I am a working mom with a special needs kid in LA county. It was a very difficult year but I understand and accept that it was the right choice. I mean, I didn’t want my mom to die. The trade off was 100% worth it.

I live in LA so I've seen tons of great shows, with some cool stories, but still the best was the first - Queen last US tour with Freddie Mercury in 1982.

This is the very best news I've had in a long time. Watched the first five seasons on Max and have been waiting to see where I can watch six and seven. It is the warmest hug of a television show. Thank you for the update!

I've been doing a lot of this lately (New Girl, 30 Rock, the Office, Parks, etc.). There is the comfort factor but I also realized that they are all Obama era comedies. I want to live in that time again and I can pretend for 21 minute chunks that I am.

I remember election night perfectly. Was a young associate at a law firm working late and realizing when they called Florida (!) it was game over and went running down the hall to co-worker/friend and we were yelling and crying and hugging. Sigh.

But not closing the many locations in California so still doing business here yes? The locations that made her family billionaires?

Apparently, we have memory holed his Arnold Palmer comments.

Maybe they have watched too many episodes of 24 which led people to believe you could get from Simi Valley to downtown in 10-15 minutes.

Conclave is fun. Also, the Young Pope and the New Pope. Really excellent.

I did a rewatch a few years ago and noticed the same. And the Xander character is enraging. Just awful. His feeling of entitlement of Buffy is very hard to watch.

Elaine Benes approves.

I had it in my 40’s and dreadful is right. I developed an intense swallowing fear as a result of the agonizing breath sucking coughs. I was shocked when the ER doc told me that I had it. Have since got the booster.

Just told my son the same thing yesterday (why he has a younger sister). My brother and I complain about my mom all the time (it is our cardio) and I wanted to give my son that gift.

When I was in law school, some 20 + years ago, it was known that always the worst people in your year went to Skadden. Certainly, that was true for my class so nothing about this surprises me.

The reason is because federal workers are so good at what they do. I hate that people think something doesn't work because they can't see it. But if, on the other side of this, we all get smarter about the way things work, that's good too. I just hope there is the other side...

I would love some type of streaming, daily videos with fired federal workers not only to highlight their stores but to teach people WHAT THE GOVERNMENT DOES FOR THEM. Too many people do not think the government does anything for them.
