An American was just elected to be the lifetime appointed sovereign of the smallest nation on Earth. Congratulations, Bobby Prevost!

Yes, children die from childhood diseases. Diseases that are preventable through safe and effective vaccines.

It is only going to get worse. So buckle up.

Next question: should parents be held liable?

Here's a writeup I did on Quora for why the "millions of 150 year olds receiving social security benefits" thing is nonsense.

Can any democrat explain why there are millions of names in the social security database aged 100-150?

Paul Martin, the inspector general for the USAID, has been fired after resisting the administration. Just a day ago, his office released a report warning that staff reductions and spending freezes put hundreds of millions in taxpayer dollars at risk of misuse and waste. This is the way.

Finally, a broad based ruling that would shut them out of an array of departments. If they want to do this, pass a law creating DOGE, and get congress to approve Musk.

"But congress will never approve this!"

Yeah, maybe there's a reason for that.

Hope is the most tenacious of virtues. It's more than a desperate wish. It's a stand against adversity that refuses to yield to pessimism and defeat. Hope is no small thing to hold or to give.

Battles don't always happen in rainstorms. Murders don't always happen in dark alleys. Coups aren't always chaos in the streets. Sometimes the sun shines on a world falling apart.

Ron Johnson's office is open and they were quite polite. There were only four other constituents there, all for pretty much the same reason.

Please, if you can show up to the offices of your representatives or senators, show up. If you can't show up, call. If you can't call, send a message.

On another social media platform after the election I addressed my republican friends, telling them that if they're wrong about Trump, and he acts on his worst impulses, they better be at the protests.

That time is now.

I plan to stop by Senator Ron Johnson's office after a work meeting I have shortly. I'll report back what I find when I get there.

Gang, we need to make this personal for our representatives. If you can, don't just email, or even call. Show up to representatives' offices. Make lines out the door, down the hall, and around the block. They can't ignore us on their doorsteps demanding they give us our government back.

Let's hope it's got some teeth and that they comply with court orders. What I'm looking for is some sign of checks and balances functioning on some level. Clawing back the rule of law.

Senator Andy Kim just went to the USAID building, talked to the security guard there to confirm employees are being barred entry, and then did a press gaggle right there in front to call it out.

This is doing something. This is making an effort on messaging. Other Democratic lawmakers: take notes.

Elon Musk, you once made me look to the skies again in awe, hope, and inspiration. Now, so long as you're involved in that company and the space program at large I'm ashamed and disgusted over what we're giving up for a ride to space. You promised a future and now you're trying to destroy it.

SpaceX used to inspire me as a spaceflight geek. Finally, after decades of stagnation we had a company pushing the envelope in ways it never had been. For years I've been seeing Musk as an unfortunate reality I'd have to accept to continue to support them. It's looking more like a Faustian bargain.
