Charlotte Ward returned as one of our 24/25 summer scholars, with her project Crime Scripts in Home Invasions: Analysing High Court Sentencing Decisions. Her research suggests that there are additional opportunities to develop crime scripts to help prevent other types of aggravated robberies.

Do our routines increase our risk of re-victimisation in different places? Summer research scholar, Donelle Steer, under the supervision of @lisatompson.bsky.social, looked at variables that approximate routine activities to determine if these are associated with risk of re-victimisation.

Summer research scholar Georgia Pollock (with Conrad Latimer & Danika Bridge) examined NZ Police records for IPV cases. Using the CBS-R, the team determined the extent to which officers recorded different types of controlling behaviours in their reports. Supervised by @jolliffesimpson.bsky.social.
