Hello friends. Today's post is about a knitting project I started then frogged, knitty.com's Clapotis 2024 version by Kate Gilbert. Chosen because the days are getting cooler but not cold enough for a jacket. I'll need a wrap that I can add/remove to regulate temperature. The Clapotis (pronounced cla-poe-tee) is Knitty's first viral pattern. You can read more here and see other's Clapotis.

Hello friends. Today's post is about a light sewing project in my WIP pile: embellish the Admin Awards denim jacket with the 2025 Noir City tee shirt and some stash patches. The jacket was a gift to nominees for the PNW Admin Awards. Here are photos of the front, back and close-up of the buttons, which say, "Admins Rock." I was nominated by two of my executive for Strategic Partner and ended up in the top three but didn't win.

This is my first pair of socks in a very long time and my third knit project in the past year. I share all the projects specs and references.

Hello friends. Today, I've got a flip through video of my first completed coloring book, Johanna Basford's "World of Flowers." I started this book in July 2021, just before my mother passed away. As I worked through the issues of her estate, coloring kept me calm. What I've found is that coloring is a great creative outlet when I'm not feeling inspired by photography, working on Elysian Fields or when I'm just stressed out by work.

Hello friends. Today, I'm revisiting an old friend: knitting. It's a small project to determine if and how much knitting I can manage. You see, I was an avid knitter for many years, around 1991 - 2013. I was working toward the Knitter's Guild of America's Master Knitter Certificate when I was diagnosed with bilateral carpel tunnel syndrome. My doctor ordered me to discontinue all my crafts, which led me to mixed media art -easier on the hands, but rather messy.

In todays post, I try to figure out how to create ripples in Gimp 3. The images are my own: Gaius was photographed with my phone and extracted. The puddle reflecting Harbour Centre at the Vancouver waterfront was shot with my Canon Rebel.

In this post, I revisit a canvas from about 5 years ago. The original image was just the dusty country road. It was one of my early photo edits in Gimp where I duplicated one later and ran high pass, which caused halos around phone lines. The original photo was taken late afternoon on a Yakama rez back road and was one of the last road trips I took with mom.
