you could genuinely give someone an update full of nothing but the best quality of life changes possible and they will try and convince you that somehow it's still worse than before. because, i don't know, the shade of green used on one UI element is slightly off.

it's genuinely not even that bad. idk why people overreact about any change ever. something something human nature to be hostile to change or some philosophy bullshit.

When consumers were promised support, they expect 7 years of OS upgrades too. You can't just fuck up year 1 and just say "well tough shit".

Laws being detrimental isn't necessarily true though. Everyone can agree there are some truly redundant laws, sure, but if we become unchecked then only the most cruel will rise to power. Power must always be regulated.

Most laws protect you. You just don't think about them because they work.

Any form of governance will be corrupt. It's the unfortunate reality that has to be swallowed before you can call for change.

But we can do better than what we have now.

We just need to stop calling any proposed solutions to our problems "socialism" and "communism".

We don't live in a proper capitalist society. The "society" part has died. The America we live in is pure, unchecked capitalism. Your very life is a simple product for the wealthy to extort more money from to sit on. Work for pennies, and die when the pigs deny you care.
December 28, 2024 at 1:08 AM
You know what else you get with that? Money. Money to put into our economy. Money to keep circulating. People can afford things. Wouldn't that be good for capitalism in the long run? So why does capitalism, or at least the pigs who benefit the most, work so hard to prevent it?

in having free, universal healthcare covered by the state a long time ago. People who pay for insurance could have saved thousands, hundreds of thousands by now. They save more than the increased taxes they pay. And not only that, everyone benefits. The wealthy, AND the poor.

Companies have grown too big. Executives have grown too rich. The common man has long since been forgotten. Why do you think the common people cheer when they see what they think is karma, with Luigi?

Healthcare is a great example, honestly. We could have joined the rest of the world

Capitalism? It's a society built on profit and free markets. Minimum government interference outside of ensuring monopolies don't form. Whether that works or not, well, another time.

I'm not saying socialism or communism is the answer, but extreme capitalism also isn't.

Hundreds of millions out of poverty?

Look around you.

Millions are homeless. Millions more barely scrape by paycheck to paycheck. Normal people can't buy groceries or houses anymore because of price gouging.

Capitalism is the drought bringing the boats down in the first place.
