Living that School Psych, Hopi, Mom life, learning to embrace my Chinese self
As the wife and mother of neurodivergent people, my daily hydration consists entirely of finishing the contents of abandoned cups around the house

@swilua.bsky.social are you the one who collects terrible charts and graphs for your students? Because I found one. The (very laughably wrong) claim is that all the Non-Teaching staff is administrative bloat that wastes taxes

Caught half an episode of Leverage and now I am compelled to watch the whole series from the beginning again

Me: hey Goose, what is your class singing for the Christmas assembly?
7yo: 🎶Feleesh Naughty-Nah🎶

My take for the "accommodations have gone too far" crowd, speaking as a school psychologist, is that they have no idea how much work the high school team does to prep the kid to even have a chance to get college accommodations, and it's still not a guarantee

"I'll simply make stock out of the turkey bones" I told myself. I've never needed a restaurant sized stock pot until right now

I'm just a neurotypical girl, living in a house with neurodivergent people, asking them to turn off the lights and close the cupboards

I'm glad I'm able to ignore the parts of Hallmark Christmas movies that are like "interior designer wins competition with an objectively terrible design that everyone says is good" or "recording artist says a major problem is the song isn't in her key like she doesn't know what transposing is"

How many movies have It's A Wonderful Life playing in the background at some point in the movie

Just saw an ad for Columbia outerwear that had to have been from an AI generated concept because it was so awful my husband and I just sat in shock for a full 30 seconds after. It was not pleasant to see and it did not inspire us to buy Columbia outerwear. Who approved that?

My husband's greatest vacation flaw (only happens on days he doesn't have work) is that he eats the thing I was going to use for dinner for his lunch 😞

A neighbor asked for help building a 3000 piece puzzle to gift to her husband, and I'm always fascinated by the way people sort their puzzle pieces. Because it's never how I would do it 🫣

If you want a little whimsy, let your kids pick the Thanksgiving theme, because my 4yo asked if Thanksgiving could be a pajama party, and she's absolutely right. So now our Thanksgiving is going to be a pajama party

I try really hard not to repeat some generational habits, but after telling my kids 10 times in the same hour to clean a room that they promised they finished cleaning, "throw everything still on the floor into a trash bag" doesn't feel so mean 🫩

16 month old has been indulging in three bedtimes. One at her regularly designated bedtime, and then she just never falls asleep so that she can participate in the 7 & 4 yos' bedtime. And then her bedtime routine all over again

Who's in charge of Life right now? I'd like to speak to a manager 🫩

It's my husband's duty to run around with the kids and get all their extra energy out before bedtime, but he has COVID, and I'm not exaggerating when I say the children have banded together to beat me up. It's been four days of tiny to not so tiny feet kicking me in the head as they jump on me 🫩

Single issue voter and the issue is making LED headlights illegal. Did not think about cleaning my glasses before driving home tonight and it was real bad 🫣

The kids have pink eye and are getting a little stir crazy, as the 4yo just challenged the 7yo to a dance fight

The Party telling me to empathize with ICE wearing masks to protect their families while their chosen influencers say empathy is a sin is a certain kind of double speak
