I still say the StarCraft 2 factions should have been a Korpulu remnant Terran/Protoss post-apocalyptic survivor faction, an ascendant Queen of Blades led Zerg swarm led by Kerrigan of her own free will, the Xel Naga, and perhaps the UED’s “no more fucking around” revenge fleet.

Found my original copies of StarCraft (1998) and the StarCraft: Brood War expansion.
Both which say inside “Coming in 1999, Diablo 2!”
It even has the paint and super glue marks from when I painted Warhammer miniatures back then.
