There is a way to succeed as a corporation and still strive for societal betterment and the improving of everyone's life. The cost is often training the right person, and the challenge is to recognize a truly empathetic and compassionate person vs a performer who claims they are.

That is largely dead outside of tradeskills, and even there it is rare. Sometimes, the best fit for a position isn't the most experienced in that role, but instead those who have personally seen the impact first-hand. It is who's motivation isn't just themselves, their family. It's for everyone.

there is simply a gap there that is unbridged both by hirers and HR. When you look at history, you find countless examples of: 'i knew this person was the right person despite their need of training.' You see those apprentices turn into masters who evolve communities for the better, and even life.

I think the real problem is that the pool of individuals who are attractive to corporate recruiters are often not the same people who are truly empathetic, compassionate, and dedicated to making things better. I am speaking from experience and have plenty of professional insight, but --
