I knew nothing about it going in and enjoying that so don't tell me anything! Though it's not my first Tales game (or jrpg) & while some of the early plot beats are obvious I'm getting into the meat of things now and it's really picking up. (400 hours of FFXV meant I clocked Alphen's VA by one sigh)

I'm not following anything except the official channel, since I just want to let them see what they do before speculating (except I'm still kinda ehh on the character designs, it looks better in motion at least). Probably when we reach actual air time I'll be viewing in my sealed underground bunker.

Even I, a wisened elder fujo who has endured any number of endless battle royale anime for the .2 seconds of gay subtext, find it something of a struggle these days to get through a whole 24 episode season of OOOPS All Toguros.

I realize that unlike some other critical series in the early western anime yaoi canon (cough yami no matsuei) YYH was aired on usa TV (eventually) and has been consistently available all this time and therefore has been viable for new fans, but the pacing of the og is A Lot for the modern viewer

YES THANK YOU THANK YOU FOR SAYING IT please sir get yourself some talent to match your vision, the weak script in Crimson Peak is one of the things that put me off

For me the struggle (as much as it is, I love Dumas!) is all the dialog between 3+ people with no dialog tags. I can follow it, but it takes a little extra effort because ofc I always want to know who is saying what! He's like a good beef jerky, there's a lot of chewing to get all the flavor.
