I could literally write an essay on how we summarize a person's entire life based on the belongings they accused and ultimately sell at their estate sale, but I won't right now. But I have decided to make my next clown costume using her fabrics. I think she would appreciate the sentiment.

I also ended up with a very personal birthday card she had stored in a box of craft supplies, from her grandkids. It was so sweet. This woman was so loved. And I'd like to think that by saving this fabric from a dump and turning it into something I can maybe give my respects to her and her legacy

I ended up buying yards and yards of fabric and lace, a handmade quilt. as well as an insanely colorful sweater. All momentos of this stranger's creative passion. And how she never got to use these things. What was she planning on sewing with the fabric?

Her husband was military. There were several uniforms around the house. And they had a game room where they had dozens of hand cut and painted bump back boards and handmade fabric pouches of marbles.

She also had over a dozen handmade children's plush dolls with attached blankets that she had evidently made herself. I wish I had gotten a picture but I do wonder who they were intended for. And also why her family didnt want to keep something so personal.
