YES, all of the characters NEED backstory now more than ever. Portia and Ava, especially. But #GH only wants to focus on who they want to focus on. We NEED fleshed out characters so we can understand where they are coming from. It's missing so much on GH.

I'm not interested in all these new characters that they just throw on us now and expect us instantly to root for them. I have no investment in these new characters at all.

So true! The problem with Portia is her expecting Trina's outlook in life and who she dates to be in lockstep with hers. She's never liked the idea of Trina thinking for herself. I've always saw Portia has emotionally immature. Perhaps if they had given us a window into who she was growing up...

They are both great for each other, Trina and Ava. Though Ava could never replace Portia, and Trina could never replace Kiki, they understand each other, and Ava is that support system Trina needs. She loves Trina like her very own daughter and wants nothing but happiness for her.
