Queer in Nola
A long weekend in San Diego is just what I needed. Coronado 5K was beautiful and I was pleased with my 35 minute finish, given I’d trained zero miles.

I love growing my own food. New to growing sweet and regular potatoes.

I’ve had a rough day. My aircon is out and it’s over 90°. So I made this lil cocktail: empress gin, St Germaine, lemon, lime, edible glitter. Delicious. If I drink enough of them, maybe I’ll forget I’m sweating.

I’ve been negligent of my garden this season but got out to fertilize and prune today.

Finally catching up on gardening chores post-Covid. My opal basil is thriving, as is Princess Charlene and Florence. Lord Morpheus, Raven, and Bowie haven’t had lots of blooms but I know it’s time to fertilize. 💐🌹🏵️

Crawling out from under this bout of covid and felt well enough to make a pasta bake and start a jaw of smreka. I love how my opal basil is coming along and it’s so pretty. I’d grow everything purple- basil, cauliflower, carrots, potatoes. Make it all purple! 💜

I love this Coven and Co dress but the asymmetrical hem dragged on the ground like a train. I didn’t want to remove the glamour of that train so I decided to add a bustle. Now I don’t have to hold it up when walking or dancing.

My roses really appreciate that I finally fertilized them. And I am so excited my new signed book arrived!

I’ve had this glitter bunny for ages. Got it and the bunny napkin rings from the Pottery Barn clearance sale. The glitter bunny needed a refreshing and now it’s ready for #Ostara

If you’re new to my feed, you will inevitably be seeing lots of my garden. Following the 10” of snow we had, I thought many of my plants had died. Today, I was delighted to see Matilda (jalapeño) has new growth! I thought I needed to replant her. Fiona, Molly, and Naomi also are growing again!

Mardi Gras is over… now to count down to Gay Easter! Life in New Orleans is simply choosing your next costume for the next holiday.
