The talisman brings to mind the Nazar 🧿 talismans I see in Turkish & Afghan shops I’ve been to, though how it’s worn on the chest reminds me of when I was doing my own research on how Turko-Mongol Shamans wear mirrors on their chest to ward off evil spirits.

I mostly write but sometimes I do art as well, mostly Australian Marsupials in the style of Pre-Hispanic Mexican art. I love Mesoamerican history and enjoy making content around my special interests.

Pretty sure thats a “Bubo bubo” (Eurasian Eagle Owl) instead of a “Bubo virginianus” (Great Horned Owl), Great Horneds tend to have a red face. Just me being resident “owl expert”.
