Tenants at a UC Santa Cruz apartment building are suing over harassment, mold issues, and steep rent hikes. This is a publicly owned building and it’s completely unacceptable to be treating tenants like this, and to be squeezing them for profits.

California has spent $17 million to guard dozens of vacant homes in LA —homes that sit idle while people are unhoused and rents soar. Wouldn't it make more sense to turn these properties into social housing instead? 🤷🏽‍♀️

Oakland used the #GrantsPass ruling to double down on criminalizing homelessness through sweeps, harsh enforcement, and reduced tolerance for visible poverty. We must remember these are our neighbors and that housing is a basic human need–not a privilege.
