The endgame is dead. Conquests aren't as good as old GM Nightfalls. Raiding is in the toilet. Dungeons are meaningless. It feels like you sunset everything before Edge of Fate.

The answer is that yes, it is unethical to use anything but actual relevant experience and training to screen employees.
Screening out ugly people, people who don't make eye contact, people with facial deformities, etc is unethical. Screening facial features for anything but modeling is unethical
