Ain't nothing you can do about it
Gonna be a big brawl over it
Like them little bitty babies in the king cakes
Since there will never be a conclusion that satisfies the majority, just assume he's anywhere in the files, in any way that makes you queasy, and vote accordingly regarding his party, the people that carry out his commands (even if they resign), and the members of Congress that sat complicit.

Honestly, is anyone surprised that Leon HASN'T tried to name any of his companies Weyland-Yutani yet?

If you ever need to experience a true alternate view of linear time, just take a day off from work. Normally, I'd be rushing from half hour to half hour. Now I can't find my misplaced hours. It's gorgeous.

In the words of Nurse Val in Girl, Interrupted, "I think it's time for you to get up."

She said this (way) before now.

My ambitious Spring Break plans: ice skating, roller skating, cat cafe, return to 16-8 fast/eat window; reconnect with my own body.

Currently enjoying cocktails while making mounds of cucumber-apple-lemon-ginger juice.

We should re-watch some movies:
Revenge of the Nerds
A Bug's Life
Pump Up the Volume
Wall-E
Dead Poet's Society

Any other suggestions?

When tragedies happen in the DC area, I am, like a lot of people, often informed before the news breaks bc the person I love the most is often involved in whatever transportation is impacted. I'm awakened by cuddles and mumbles, so I do what I know to do: I love back. I comfort. I make us coffee.

Alright, dangit. If people MUST post stuff about the events leading up to tomorrow on here, I'll just stay off it for the next few days. It's messing with my day drinking.

What does it mean if regular eggs now cost almost $8 but organic eggs now cost less than $7?

You know how seamless the transition from dur leader to the mainstream is? Most people who know full well that flags are flown at half staff are referring to it as half mast.

Get your ducks in a line, people.

I've been fortunate that the only dental surgery I've needed so far is gum grafts, but returning to my Invisalign reminds me once again that bones just do what they want when you stop being OCD for two weeks. Ouchies.

I would love to see a poll on how many people now operate in a 24-hour, all-access workplace but do NOT get reimbursed for their cell usage or provided a separate device from their employer.

We're getting swindled once again.

Which ones do you think have legit traction?
The GOP has released their 12 priority bills.

Under the new House rules: it calls for a separate consideration of 12 bills under a closed rule with one hour of debate equally divided and controlled by the Majority
Leader and the Minority Leader or their respective designees.

They are listed ⬇️

I got myself some Duckeys and now I have to find a semi-quiet keyboard with the + port. I had no idea descriptors for keyboards got so fancy pants. I'm going to start by pilfering randos at work.

Ok, so I just found out that Rami Malek is only 6 yrs younger than me, and it makes me smile that I'm likely to see what he looks like as an old fart. He's a stunning actor, but c'mon, he's already rocking the idgaf old fart persona.

Peak 2025: last night, we set off fireworks we'd had from years ago. Most of them fizzled and sputtered and failed to launch. We cheered out random Elmo failings as they themselves failed to inspire greatness, then made a bonfire and mused about future finances as SM's bad impact on the workplace.

The irony of working in education is that, while you get this big chunk of time before the new year to reflect, recover, what have you, but then you go back to work and nothing actually changes over. It's just halfway through 2nd quarter with 5 1/2 months to go.

My ambitious last day of the year:
7am: FitXR with brother
7:30: breakfast
8am: drove partner to p/u car in repair
9am: bought wine for the weekend
10am: sauna & fascia blasting
11am: lunch & laundry

Now what? A nap. I think a nap is best.

Am I too old fashioned to believe that a menopausal woman careening towards 50 can take off 20lbs without having to overcome a lifelong fear of needles? I guess 2025 will let me know, either way.

I'm halfway through Winter Break. Brother in Germany calls at 7am for FitVR. We both burn out our shoulders. Partner wants to take the electric to work. I am already day drinking so, of course, I'm not leaving the house.

Next year will be rough. Right now, though, life is good, and slow, for me.

I learned today that when you're making soup with ham bones, there's a filtering process. You get the big pieces out first and, if you're thorough, you go after the others with a skimmer.

Laura and Vivek are the sockets. I'm waiting for the shards.

Bide your time. Set it on simmer.

Today, it's not a food coma. It's just a ham nap.
