Nunja. Für eine/n Selständige/n ohne weitere finanzielle Absicherungen und ohne Rente ist das wenig, weil das kaum für den Lebensabend reicht. Für jemanden mit einer Grundsicherung stellt sich das anders dar.

But why would the code need a different path for bytes > 127? Are the checks signed, perhaps? This is so weird.

I don't read ARM, but I'm curious. What's a Non-ASCII char in a byte stream? And why does the difference matter for this purpose? Also, why is the code concerned about page boundaries? Do the used instrs not work across one?
