RIP Gerd Stern, who passed away at 96 on Monday. My condolences to Judith and all of those who knew and loved him. I had the honor of chatting with Gerd many times at the Poetry Science Talks in Manhattan, a monthly salon curated by Neal Goldsmith and Ed Rosenfeld - an oasis in the sand:
