A number of bees are setting about their work by the entrance. Two bees seem to be checking the propolis sealing at the entrance to the hive A number of bees are collected at the entrance to the hive. A bee is walking along the side of the hive. Their small hooked legs make it easy to traverse vertical surfaces or even upside down.

Buzz buzz, a few more of our fav pics from last year, buzz buzz.
Two bees walk over comb cleaning and preparing it for honey. A bee poses for the camera at the entrance while other bees come in and out behind them. An extremely close picture of a single bee tending comb. The structure of their wings and the fur that covers their body are quite clear. Another close up that shows the wing structure and hairs across the bees body. For all you sight impaired humans who've made it here, we have a little factory about our own sight. We don't have the visual acuity that you humans do, imagine a rather pixilated picture. However where it only takes 24 frames per second to give an average human the perception of a continuous film sequence, it would take 200 - 300 frames per second before we couldn't tell.

We're not implying anything with this... but if the queen isn't doing her job properly we straight up decapitate her ass and make another... 🤷‍♀️. Though we would be remiss not to also mention the term queen is misleading. She's not in charge so much as she's a specialized worker with an important job.
This picture is of me, the one writing this post. I'm a guard bee here watching the entrance, but they gave me the phone for today.

We're rather busy right now prepping for spring but here are some pictures we took of ourselves and our sister hive last summer. We figured out the camera before we figured out the account.

It's spring! Our sister hive and us have made it through winter so now begins the process of cleaning, foraging the first blooms, and tending to the first generation laid by the Queen since last fall!
