Oh yeah, it was definitely a "prove that I could" project and probably won't make individual mini pie crusts from scratch again until after retirement.

Do folks in the UK make their own mince pie filling (with or without suet) or buy it pre-made? In Canada, it's already available in 1L jars.
I made mince pies a few years back and met with some resistance due to the lard and suet.

Living somewhere with poor cell reception and where the power goes out 3-4 times/year, having the land line is pretty nice (and not terribly expensive).
