what if
November 20, 2025 at 4:19 PM
like i can barely pass turnstile or recaptcha v3 simply bc of my shitty proxy ip reputation (which i need to be able to access the website at all), but i can also just go pay 0.001$ to some saas to generate me a valid token, and another couple bucks for a residential proxy

my main issue with these is that they just don't work
who needs them bypassed will bypass them either way, but it keeps harming actual users

ok yeah this was a bug in solid-query after all

at least it would make debugging stuff like "why the fuck is this suspending" a simple cmd-f
November 18, 2025 at 1:08 AM
tbh this extends to solid resources in general
i want it to suspend in like 0.01% of cases, and most of the time i want the .latest

they would be much less painful to deal with if the default read had behavior like .latest has, and the suspending behavior was explicit.

im afraid its output is gonna be twice as much as the entire dotlottie bundle

nah i never said it's anything bad and i totally understand that collaborating between complete strangers is often not very feasible

that post is pretty much about that, just overly emotional :>
that "why" is more of a rhetorical question
November 17, 2025 at 4:47 PM
ehh not really, it's an industry standard for vector animation atp, and animating anything slightly more complex than icon transitions manually in svg is a pita

obamna

i think this is like the 5th project like that i heard about

why can't people just collaborate on a single good one 😭😭
November 17, 2025 at 10:03 AM
wait what it does?????
November 17, 2025 at 9:58 AM
just remembered that for lottie to actually *work* you need a motion designer

most free assets are either ass or don't fit well into the existing design, and ripping them from apps like telegram is imo a bad pr move even for an open source nonprofit product
November 17, 2025 at 4:27 AM
i really dont like the idea of loading quite a bunch of js+wasm (~600kb uncompressed) just for a few whimsy interactions bweh
November 17, 2025 at 4:18 AM
lowkey considering giving up and just rewriting everything in react

(i wont and really don't want to, but i cant help but think how much easier that would be...)
