I've played several pathfinder society games by pbp in a discord server (cayden's keg) it pretty much works just like an old school forum but with more bells and whistles, and sometimes bursts of activity.

Animal Fact: Opossums have one of the lowest body temperatures of any mammal, which is one of the reasons they are also highly resistant to rabies!

"But then I lose my floooow" <-- actual excuse I gave myself to justify my behaviour. I'll definitely have to bring this up with myself during my bi-weekly performance review.

oh whoops, misread that, apologies!
That's kind of a weird rider on a premaster monster when imp grab exists
November 28, 2024 at 8:04 PM
The premaster version of Grab was after strike, 1A or FA, target is grabbed No roll required.
The idea behind the remaster is to make those abilities that give you +1 vs grabbed effects actually function, but with most grabby monsters having huge bonuses to athletics it's kind of moot
November 28, 2024 at 7:51 PM
I think a lot of it is due to the fact that paizo themselves are pretty bad at following their own encounter building guidelines, and a lot of fights are very often severe or extreme encounters vs single creatures. I've found the game plays best when the sides are more balanced in numbers.

casters being weak is also really a matter of perspective.
In my L15 game, the divine sorcerer, often considered the worst tradition for blasting, is consistently doing the most damage per encounter, and that's not even counting support spells, or the fact that he is the primary in-combat healer.

By the remaster rules, those kinds of creatures are even worse! They don't grab you automatically, instead they roll an athletics check, but with their huge modifiers they often Crit, which restrains the player instead!

It's a bit of a controversial change :P

Also, If you don't have someone with advanced alchemy in your party, poison prices do get prohibitably expensive pretty quickly.

If you still want to lean into poison, there's a L2 poisoner archetype that gives advanced alchemy benefits for poison and a couple of extra boons for poisons!
November 27, 2024 at 6:30 PM
As a rogue you have access to the L4 Poison Weapon feat, which gives you a number of doses of basic ass poison every day, and an action to apply any poison to your weapon.

Note: Most poisons have really narrow dc window, poison is a common immunity, and fort is the average highest save.

So while not exactly cursed, the FA game is usually the one I look forward to the most, and it's what we play the least!

I am lucky enough to have a stable core of friends who like to play different games and have two weekly PF2 games.
We're also playing Fabula Ultima with one group, unfortunately the GM and one of the players are 'dads with jobs'(tm) so we get together *maybe* once per month.

More of a combat thing, but for acid and fire, there's the Water Bomb! a nonlethal alchemical bomb that lets you immediately do an assisted check on your target at your usual bomb range.

you do actually have to manage to hit your buddy though, but they can make themselves offguard to the attack!

It's probably just me being paranoid, but isn't tagging images with detailed descriptions and metadata playing right into the hands of AI scrapers?

the number one rule in my pathfinder games is that we do not talk about transmutation effects and it's implications.
the second rule is that we do NOT talk about transmutation effects and it's implications.

the third is no heists
