Thoughts like that have finally gotten me to start looking into Gurps...after having the books on my shelves for longer than I care to admit.

That's the apocalypse engine at work. It's not that it thinks you are a preexisting character specifically. The play books just always fit into tropes.
I still have ideas of what I would do if I was running R&RS, and would actually like to eventually. Though that is a fault of the system.
