I'm counting hundreds of tiny green dots, streaming triple j's "like a version" and pretending I'm still in Adelaide (where it is now summer, and things and wonderful).

Weaned and ear-tagged some PWD mice recently (if you know, you know how...energetic they can be). Parents were bouncing off the walls, but the babies are perhaps the sweetest little mice I've ever met.

Should I go to Ithaca's premature Trans Day of Remembrance? Probably. Will I? No. Why? Because I am trash.

Very sad/upset about leaving NM a week early, never having made it to Las Cruces. A handful of days in Albuquerque was not sufficient; I need to come back asap.

I'm getting frustrated at how heavily my research relies on antibodies, yet how few quality antibodies are actually available. There has to be a better way.

Why did I ever stop studying monotremes? Easily a top 5 lifetime regret.
Early work found no REM in sleeping echidna, suggesting REM sleep arose in other mammals after diverging from monotremes. Later work discovered REM in the only other living monotreme genus. What do platypuses look like when dreaming, you ask?
