I think they are a great foundation. The alliteration and metaphors plus the writing styles [insert swoon here]. I think they are essential up until a certain point. I do think more relevant pieces should be added. But my vote is for a BALANCED compromise

Actually I would disagree, I mentioned that my taste has changed for all content. Even movies and shows. Before I didn’t enjoy consuming dramas, only lighter content. Now I dont enjoy the lighter content. And the dramas are more enjoyable.

That’s the thing. I was reading a bunch of genres - romance, fantasy, history, mystery… but nothing was giving me the “I can’t put this book down cause it’s so good”

I feel you. The book has been on my radar since it came out in 2019. Figured if it couldn’t bring me out of my rut, then maybe I should just take a break from reading. I’m tired of DNFing 🙈
