I am so poor right now, but when I have the money to do so, I am determined to get a tattoo that says "be queer, do crime". Still deciding on where to get it, but I need this f**k you to the current state of things. For now, I just have my pin that says the same thing on the bag I carry everywhere.

When there are that many sexual assault allegations in the White House, they don't actually care about protecting women & children. Trans people aren't the problem. We need to focus on the 1% that is actually the problem.

It's really telling when someone shows their true colors (e.g. racism, transphobia, sexism, xenophobia, homophobia, etc.) & instead of their fans/followers holding them accountable & calling them out they just double down & defend the harmful behavior.

It's so funny how people have this idea that bi/pan people are just a bunch of sluts & are sleeping with everyone. Let me be clear, I'm just a slut in my head. Having to actually flirt & interact with people? My social anxiety would never.

Lately, the only things that have been drowning out my anxiety & existential dread are Abracadabra by our Queen Gaga and Kendrick's entire Super Bowl set list.

I am non-binary. I am trans. An executive order isn't going to erase my existence. I am proud of who I am & I won't let anyone tell me otherwise. My fellow trans & enby folks, I love you, you are worthy, & you are valid. We are real & we won't be silenced.

Sooo, where are the queer trans/enby romances with plus-size MCs? Because I REALLY struggle to find those. Do they even exist or is there a secret corner that I'm not looking at? I need these stories in my life.

Fetishization is an issue, but not here. Don't dress up your misogynistic transphobia against trans authors & their rep as caring about the fetishizing of trans people. You're using a real issue to make a problem out of something that isn't a problem.
1) Sadly trans authors are too often questioned, shamed and harassed until they are either outed (like I was) or decide to stop publishing their work.
I have known trans authors who decided not to write trans books SOLELY because they did not want to be harassed for their rep.

As a human, I have made mistakes, but I make it a point to always learn from those mistakes. When it comes to reading, I wasn't always going into it very consciously. I would see something interesting & just read it.

I have read 472 books this year (not a flex, just a fact). People get really hung up on how many books people read. I'm as proud of my 472 as I was when I struggled to read 5 in a year. It's been a journey & I found what works for me. Don't shame anyone for what they read or how they read. (1)

It's so funny to me when a couple of the comments from my more popular posts recently tell me I'm "confused." Bro, I'm the LEAST confused about who I am now than I have ever been. Closeted & suppressed teenage me was confused af, but I didn't know why. Now I do. Everything makes sense.

I have worked for 6 days in a row dealing with people all day long every single day. My introverted brain is all peopled out, so I'm about to hole up in the silence of my apartment to read and sleep for the next 24 hours. I'm pretty excited about it.

I completely understand that certain things can trigger dysphoria in many trans people (trust me, I am one of them). But saying that some of those things that may be affirming to other trans people shouldn't be allowed in books because they are triggering for you causes exclusion.

You can be trans & not want bottom surgery.
You can be trans & not want HRT.
You can be trans & not want top surgery.
Stop gatekeeping what makes a trans person's identity valid & what doesn't. The only opinion that matters is their own & you just need to accept that.

I have seen a lot of discourse around trans ftm rep. Good rep is important, & diverse rep that encompasses every experience is important. Saying that ftm rep that is heavily masculine & only either vers or tops is the only right way is harmful & invalidating to other lived experiences.

5 star reads don't need to be literary masterpieces. If the story is fun and entertaining, and the characters are interesting, then 5 stars in my book. Just enjoy reading and have fun with it.
