This is America's dumbest grammar rule and it's not close.

This is gonna sound crazy, but I was literally thinking about this song yesterday and how much I, in particular, love this one lyric for how simple and true it can be youtu.be/aKu0pW69ROc&...

I agree in this case, that review is not an example to be followed. It always has to be a good faith & open-minded evaluation.
November 4, 2025 at 9:38 PM
I should say this is all assuming that the review itself is being approached in good faith and with an open mind, which maybe the above reviewer wasn't doing.

The issue for me is then all of these getting lumped into a singular Metacritic number that masquerades as some kind of objectivity.

I think it's good to have a range of different critics tackle a video game. Both diehard fans and those coming at it with fresh eyes. You need the informative reviews and the more heady ones (not sure which the above is, admittedly haven't read it)

I don't think this is way off-base but I'd find different adjectives besides "clever" and "dumb" as I think that's an unnecessarily simplistic dichotomy.

It's a mistake to think you can measure intelligence on a scale. Even loosely.

You look so much like your mother wow...

There are so many high-quality releases both big and small that deserve to be talked about every week. We're no longer in an era where it makes sense to discuss a single title for months on ends unless it really is a seismic shift for the medium as a whole. TLOU, BOTW etc. - hall of Fame material.

Call Me Ted did great work for Ipswich last year in the prem but this shit is embarrassingly lame.
September 18, 2025 at 9:28 AM
Agreed yeah. I think you could do it but it would be a poor experience.
September 12, 2025 at 9:46 PM
You could probably jerry rig it so you could play without a headset. I'm guessing the Switch uses a light sensor to know if it's inside the casing?

Any gems in that line up?
September 12, 2025 at 5:17 PM
Nintendo are, for better and worse slavishly devoted to preserving the original experience of playing their classic titles. It's a stance I can respect honestly.

I assume it's also why you rarely see genuine ground-up remakes from the company.

That's 1.5ppg. Stretched out to a season that's 69pts which normally gives you a shout at 6th place but no guarantee. We'd be miles off automatics.
September 8, 2025 at 12:15 PM
If you don't count the half we played with Long in the 4-0 victory against Hull last season, it would be the 1-0 win v QPR on 25th November 2023.

I believe that was the start of our year-long unbeaten streak at home as well.

I'd literally never read the term "crash out" until about a month ago and it's been all over the internet ever since
August 3, 2025 at 1:48 PM
They'll hold off as long as possible but it will come for Switch 2 eventually. Probably next year though.
August 1, 2025 at 5:27 PM
There's way too much discourse now about everything.

Time Crisis when??

Fortunately, the Mr Whippy thing is a myth

I do wish that online was only 3-lap tracks. And it seems crazy that there is a functionally infinite number of potential knockout tours, but we're restricted to a handful of routes.

Still the best in the series though.

Such is the quality of Mario's OST back catalogue, I think MKW genuinely runs Smash Ultimate for its money for best soundtrack-that-is-mostly-just-rearrangements of all time.
