I think Tom it's got to do with the 2 parties in government, they share the role of taoiseach, so they split the finance portfolio so it doesn't look as if one party is better than the other or receiving better t&c!!!

How can we believe what you say when you cannot get simple facts correct! Josh van der Flier IS NOT SOUTH AFRICAN.
He was born in Wicklow, Ireland his DUTCH grandparents on his Dad's side moved to Ireland in the '50's.
The throw away comment about his "countrymen" ie S. African was not appreciated!!

That avoided the immediate chaos which would have led to dissolution. By insisting on unity, the MSs also agreed to positions in advance. Divide and conquer became impossible for the UK, and the MSs supported one another - think Ireland - to the hilt.

Because they are reactive rather than proactive, they want "someone" to fix it not realising that only they can change things. It's too much bother!!

If they're unrepresented why do they not become active in politics. Commenting on social media posts is not active in politics.
Disillusionment will not change anything get up and active!

Well maybe if the young struggling got up off their a##es and got out and voted there may have been changed. You have no right to complain if you didn't exercise your civic duty and vote!!

Very interesting thread, you get the feeling that very few of those politicians wanted to dirty their hands with "those awful Europeans" The British always considered themselves a step or two above!!
