In 1984, #Netherlands issued these "Children's Postage Stamps." The set has 4 stamps, but only one mini-sheet with 2 of the stamps was produced.

A mini-sheet of 6 postage stamps issued by Netherlands, in 1984. In the left margin of the sheet is the inscription in Dutch, "Kinderpostzegelaktie 1984" (English translation: Children's Postage Stamps 1984), and "Kinderzegels, Goed Geplankt! (Children's Stamps,Well Pasted). The stamps are semi-postal, or charity issues imprinted with 2 values., one for the actual postage rate paid by the stamp, and the second is a surcharge that goes towards a charity. The stamps are designed as comic strip panels. 4 of them, denominated 50c+25c depict a young boy wearing shorts, a vest, and a tailcoat, playing a violin, with a musical note emanating from it indicating his skill in playing it. An older man is standing in front of the boy holding a violin and bow in front of him with squiggly lines and stars emanating from the violin, indicating the scratchy noise he is only able to produce with his violin. The speech balloon for the man says, "Can you teach me to play quickly?! Tomorrow is my mom's birthday and I want to surprise her." The second panel shows a little boy dressed like a king, wearing a robe and crown, and holding a sceptre. In front of himis a dog in a doghouse designed like a treasure chest. A block of 8 stamps issued by the United States in 1981 on space exploration. 8 different designs are depicted, forming one continuous design over the block of 8. The first stamp in the top row shows an astronaut standing on the moon and is inscribed, "Exploring the Moon." the 2nd stamps shows a space shuttle attached to the booster rocket at takeoff, and is inscribed, "Benefitting Mankind." The 3rd stamp, also inscribed, "Benefitting Mankind," depicts a space shuttle in orbit with a bay open with a device (perhaps some kind of scientific measuring instrument?) outside, tethered to the shuttle. The 4th stamp is inscribed, "Understanding the Sun," and shows a spacecraft with the sun shining brightly in the background. The 1st stamp on the bottom row is inscribed, "Probing the Planets," and shows the planet Satuern and the Voyager spacecraft. The 6th stamps, "Inscribed "Benefitting Mankind," Shows a space shuttle being launched, attached to the booster. The 7th stamps, also inscribed, "Benefitting Mankind," shows a space shuttle in orbit around Earth. The last stamp, inscribed,"Comprehending the Universe," shows a satellite in space.

The Whalers of Foveaux Strait
New Zealand, Scott Nr 313 (1956)
A postage stamp issued by New Zealand in 1956 to mark the centennial of the Southland Region and the settlement of the first Europeans. It is an engraved design, printed in dark green. The stamp is inscribed, "1856 Southland Centennial 1956." The design, with title inscribed, "The Whalers of Foveaux Strait," shows a crew of whalers in a whaleboat directly over a whale, with the harpooner ready to spear the whale. Their whaling ship can be seen in the background. The stamp artist made an error in the design, in that there is no line attached to the harpoon. Once the whale is speared, it's, "Bye bye, birdie."

After #WWI #Latvia declared its independence. A shortage of paper led to using old German #military #maps (blank on the backside) on which to print their postage stamps. This is a block of 16 stamps of Scott Catalogue Nr 1.
A block of 16 stamps issued by Latvia in 1918. This was the country's first stamp issue after declaring independence, after World War I. It depicts the Latvian coat of arms and is printed in carmine red. The stamps for this first issue were not perforated. This is the backside of the block of 16 stamps of Latvia's first postal issue, showing a portion of the German military map on which the stamps were printed. The top half is a map of the countryside, while the bottom half contains the map legend.

A postage stamp issued by Sweden in 1986 shows a head shot of Martin Luther King Jr, while in the background is a vignette of a crowd of demonstrators. In the margin, under the portrait are inscribed the words "Nobels Fredspris 1964," (Nobel Peace Prize 1964). The image was designed by I Axelsson and engraved by Martin Mörck. The stamp is Scott Catalogue #1621. A postage stamp souvenir sheet issued by the island of Jersey in 2023 on the occasion of the coronation of King Charles III. The portrait was engraved onto the stamp die by Martin Mörck. On the sheet, outside of the stamp area, is printed a quote from King Charles III, "We now dedicate our lives to serving the people of the United Kingdom, the realms and commonwealth." The stamp has a face value of 5 British pounds and is Scott Catalogue number 2649, and SG #MS2806. A postage stamp of Greenland issued in 2003, Scott Catalogue #416. Designed and engraved by Martin Mörck, it depicts a sailing ship just off the coast, with a coastal village in the background and 2 men in a rowboat just in front of the ship. The ship's name, "Emma" is inscribed in the upper left corner. A pane of booklet stamps issued by Sweden in 1996, Scott Catalogue nuber 2173a, depicts historic buildings. The top stamp, designed by Inga-Karin Eriksson and engraved by Peter Naszarkowski, depicts the Post Office and Railway Station, Halsingland, with a steam locomotive in front. The stamp below that is also engraved by Naszarkowski, from the art by Ake Svensson, and shows the Motala Assembly Hall in Ostergotland. In the third row, the stamp on the right side is the third stamp on the pane engraved by Naszarkowski from a stamp design co-created by G. Källstrom and Inga-Karin Eriksson. It depicts a half-timbered barn in Vasterbotten. The left-hand stamp in the third row was engraved by Martin Mörck from a design co-created by B. Lindroos and Inga-Karin Eriksson. It depicts the parish storehouse in Småland. Both stamps on the bottom row were designed by Inga-Karin Eriksson and engraved by Martin Mörck. The one on the left depicts a sheep shelter in Gotland, with 2 sheep grazing outside. The stamp on the right shows the Old Town Hall in Lidköping, Västra Götaland. The individual stamps have Scott Catalogue numbers 2168-2173, and the intact pane is catalogue number 2173a.

A postage stamp presentation pack issued by Great Britain in 2007, featuring 6 stamps reproducing 6 different Beatles vinyl album covers. Each stamp shows a stack of albums with the Beatles album being the topmost. The cover of the presentation pack is inscribed, "THE BEATLES Royal Mail Mint Stamps," with the typeface of "THE BEATLES" resembling that used on the White Album, though, on the White Album the word "The" only has an upper-case letter T, while the stamp packet has the word "THE" in all caps. In #Chinese culture, the character 福 or “fú” is symbolic of good luck and joy, and the word for bat is 蝠 and is also pronounced “fú” – thus bats are symbolic of good luck and joy.

One is shown hanging upside down from a tree limb, while the other is pictured in flight. The background of the design is a verdant seacoast. Pictured is a postage stamp issued by the island of Jersey in 1980, Scott catalogue #221. It depicts a Rodrigues Fruit Bat hanging from a tree limb with a baby cradled on its belly. Below it and to its left is shown a silhouette of a bat in flight. Along the left edge of the design, reading from bottom to top, is inscribed, "Jersey Wildlife Preservation Trust." Morning walk to Santa Catarina Park and the marina.

Brites de Almeida, a legendary figure in Portuguese history. Known for baking the best bread. After the defeat of the Castillians in 1385, suspecting soldiers hiding in her oven, she baked them along with her bread.
