Appendix 1: on gun analogies

Nobody ever asked me to teach gun safety in history class. The reasons are so obvious they don't need stating and have nothing to do with whether gun safety matters.

But I am being asked (not politely) to spend history class helping people to learn how to use Al.

Can’t resist adding this, which has been the not-so-secret recipe of mainstream (North) American punditry for at least as long as I’ve been able to read

That you prate about his commitment to free speech on campus without so much as mentioning his pet project, a watchlist targeting professors who said things he disliked, privately or publicly, for harassment, tells me all I need to know about how seriously you take these principles. Milton, my ass.

Here are some of the misdeeds of the “featured professors” currently on the Professor Watchlist site, the project of TPUSA.

I didn’t have to go past names beginning with A to find them.

See if you can find the threat to “free speech” they represent.

Appendix 1: on the left, the list including my name, with an academic affiliation that ended in June; on the right, the list as I see it now, with my name removed. At no point did anyone involved in the letter contact me either to ask for my signature or to apologize for the fraud.
