Not finding this as interesting as The Civil War. The American Revolution was a group of Englishmen freeing themselves from taxation by other Englishmen. The Civil War freed a class of oppressed people. That was a real revolution.

Finished Volume 2 of Shelby Foote's The Civil War. If I had been alive in the 1860s, I would have been a Copperhead, a Peace Democrat. If the South wanted to leave, it wasn't worth fighting to keep it. I still don't want to live in the same country as Texas.
