When Adrien Brody shouts "THAT FUCKING FAGGOT" at Gustav it honestly nails what is so special about him.

The way maximalism is so core to the movie too. Gustav's whole bit is doing the most even if it is all ephemeral and fascists are destroying everything. It saves his ass multiple times. Same with all of the set details and the pastries. Frivolous, but filled with soul.

That film has such an interesting approach to its maximalism too. Like it really feels like the point of it all. Gustav's whole approach to doing the most even if it truly is all ephemeral and fascists are knockimg eve

Remembering that Zero insists on sleeping in his old quarters when he visits the hotel fucking guts me.

there's very much an attitude I think people fail to articulate which is really useful even though people often don't follow up on the second half.

Learn to accept and love your art at any level of quality so you can have more fun making work and be less-harmed-by/more-open-to critique.

Like the idea that her lessons are great for established artists and adults as much as they are for children really spoke to me. The attitude i had was my biggest issue. I'm naturally driven and motivated and love genuine critique, but it's impossible to do that if I can't accept my "bad" art.

this. I struggled a lot for years even putting pen to paper and would have panic attacks where i'd think i should be killed for making bad art. It took reading Lynda Barry's 'Making Comics' among a ton of other things to get over that and that chill schoolteacher approach helped so much for me.

Like legit Abhora is someone whose use of materials and textures is so different than everyone else that anything they do feels unique. Going off prompt in season one of Titans felt very much like a lack of confidence thing and that's so clearly not an issue now. A joy everytime they're on screen.

And i'm very glad that Abhora figured out how to juggle being a delightful freak weirdo with looks that fit the challenges. I think their artistry shines better when on-prompt as it highlights their strengths compared to others as opposed to being off prompt and standing out like a sore thumb.

Very glad to see Jay Kay and Abhora get treated more kindly this time around. I've always loved their work and Jay Kay feels like the second protagonist right alongside Jaharia. The edit really favors the aspects of them that i liked the first time around that people seemed to dislike.

This season definitely has a rough start and is very drama heavy with a chaotic plot struggling to handle the weight of an enormous cast, but it's not bad either. I'm excited to see where things go. It's becoming clear already who the strongest contestants are.

could make bank off of that in the realm of niche designer fragrances though.

so many great memories of that time. I wasn't the most put together kid and thus at least one other thing we were doing together fell thru because I wasn't getting stuff done.

Still so grateful for the time we spent making stuff together and the space he cultivated. Braingale was home for me.
