This whole project was super fun, and it's also the first creative project I've managed to actually fully focus on in over a year now. So that felt really nice. 🥲 I definitely should've slept more this week though lol

I also took on the extra challenge of using only public domain art, and I'd say I spent at least 5 times as long finding good images and laying everything out as I actually spent writing lmao. But I'm really proud of the final result. Here's a preview of the first few pages:

If I’m further than 1 chapter into a book and I still couldn’t give someone else a basic pitch on what the book is about, that’s a problem to me. Get to the hook faster! I don’t want to be shown boring things I don’t understand yet, just tell me what I need to know to care about what’s going on!

I’ve now read (or dnf’ed) way too many books where I’m bounced back and forth between multiple POV characters several times right off the bat without learning anything about them other than vague hints about dramatic backstories without so much as an inciting incident in sight to hang on to.
