Put together my first mechanical watch today. Thanks so much to @wildfaeriecaps.com for gifting me the parts! It was a bit tedious, especially cutting the crown stem and getting the hands on, but not terrible to do. Took around 1.5 hours with breaks.

If I had done what Nate Silver did in any of my undergraduate or graduate econometrics courses, I would have failed. (At the very least, he’s gotta use robust standard errors, and use inflation *rates* rather than dollar amounts.)

Made some chicken noodle soup tonight. I used a bit too much turmeric, and it could have used a bit more salt, but it’s not an awful first try. (My kid complained it had too many veggies.)

It’s a chaotic time. Mentally, things aren’t currently awful. And I’m able to keeping things going and the bills paid. But my looks are… something (I have a face for radio), and my romantic life is meh (the short: lonely, but no current capacity for an LTR). so it goes.
