I've not watched Schindler's List since it was first released. That is, until this evening. Sometimes we need to be reminded of the past so we can learn to never repeat it.

I've not watched Schindler's List since it was first released. That is, until this evening. Sometimes we need to be reminded of the past so we can learn to never repeat it.
I have developed into a grumpy old man. At the weekend, I was at a hotel in Leicester and bought a cheese and pickle sandwich. It cost £9. Nine quid? I've been moaning about it ever since. The pic shows it did come with some crisps and the cheese was brie, but even so.

A rapscallion moved our rubbish bin overnight to a shop 5 doors down the road. It meant my bin wasn't emptied, and I'll have to pay for it to be collected again. I know there are bigger things to worry about, but it has irritated me more than a smidgen. I shall count to ten.

I'm at a village hall in the outskirts of Ipswich this morning to give a talk. The freezing temperature might put some off from coming, but for the brave souls that do attend they'll be rewarded with a warm welcome, a brew and biscuits.

I stayed at a hotel last week. On checking out I was asked by the receptionist if I was going to work. I said that I was off to a funeral hence the black suit + tie. After paying the bill the receptionist then said "Have a nice day". I think she realised that may have been a smidgen inappropriate.

I can sum up my baking attempt today in a few words : "Curdled cake batter". The creation is currently in the oven but I'm not holding out much hope.

My washing machine has decided to spring a leak. With only 7 working days before Christmas I doubt I'll be able to get it fixed in time. I think the local laundry does service washes, fingers crossed. The pic has no relevance whatsoever, but I never need an excuse for a glass of something bubbly.

This is my last night in #Normandy before the long drive back to LeShuttle and then home. Currently deciding what cheeses to bring back as there's so much choice. This needs careful thought.

I've still got plenty of room in the car for more wine and beer. The prices in #Normandy are so cheap compared to the UK it would be foolish not to. The sparkling rose wine works out at only £2.30 per bottle.
