Mobius pushes up against the stream of people leaving the church. It's after midnight, technically Monday, but that didn't seem to bother any of the islanders. They come for the miracles, hoping for their own. If only they were true. When he finally gets inside, he sees the one he's here for, back turned to face the altar, head tilted up. He almost can't breath from seeing those gorgeous black curls he remembers, but his eyes cast down and he swallows, seeing strange purple robes. It doesn't look good on Loki. Not their colour. His footsteps echo as Mobius takes a step forward down the aisle between the pews. The church is not as oranate as some he's seen. It's almost humble and contradictory to what he would expect from Loki. This whole anomaly is not something Mobius has seen before and he needs to tread carefully, because this shouldn't be happening. Loki is meant to be at the end of time, not here making miracles happen for a tiny island populace. This isn’t the way he wanted their reunion to go, but apparently life has other plans. He reaches Loki, a mere step behind the god playing dress up. “Okay, Loki, going to tell me what this is all about?” There's a laugh that fades into a sigh. Loki straightens their shoulders and turns and the light catches sharp teeth that were never there before, stained red. They take a step down, forcing Mobius to shift backwards. “Mass is over,” Loki says, eyes flickering over him, then coming back up to meet his own. “There will be another one tomorrow.” And the next night and next night. Loki living the same night over and over in a place that isn't their life, that means nothing to them and isn't real, just conjured imaginings of a lonely god. Mobius only hopes it's not too late to stop this madness.

At some point, he notices Loki pulling his tie loose, then trying to undo his top button and clearly not having much luck. There's a faint growl and they pull back, forcing Mobius to try and chase those red, swollen lips. He ends up staring at them until his brain kicks in and he blinks, looking up to see a faint flush of pink over pale cheeks and darkened green eyes. “Why are these things so difficult?” they purr, fingers working to open his collar. It takes a few seconds of fidgeting and then the material drops, falling away from his neck, allowing Loki’s fingers to brush along the exposed skin. “So beautiful.” Mobius shivers, biting his lip both in pleasure and to stop the self-depreciating rebuttal forming on his tongue.

Most days, Mobius starts his ‘morning’ with black sludge from the small coffee machine in his small boxed TVA apartment. The machine is set the night before so it’s ready and waiting for him when he eventually drags himself out of bed. Loki knows it's disgusting but Mobius loves it, and so they try to remember the smell as best they can. It almost works, but they're not sure. Maybe they are simply screwing up their face and not smelling anything at all.

Just like Mobius took little persuasion to take Loki to Pomeii, all it took for Loki to get on the bike is a little tilt of Mobius' head. They are so gone for each other.
