It gets harder and harder to time, exponentially more expensive to level up, and just overall diminishing returns the higher level someone is and you try to increase their stats.

Well, that's good that you have it already. If there're more complex mechanics that can't be explained by that then I would make it something you'd have to discover. Or maybe make it required in a challenge fight where that's expected. Like the optional Hard Modes in "Self Defense Kinda..."

I think the Inscryption rulebook would be great. If there's something you don't know, you just mouse over it and right click or something and it pulls you to the part of the rulebook explaining that mechanic. It's optional, out of the way when you don't need it, and quick when you do.
