I honestly think social media algorithms have damaged the internet substantially. After years of algorithmic feeds being “just how it’s done” I’ve seen so many people complaining that they can’t use social media without them.

Algos are designed with 1 goal: keeping users longer and having them engaging, and posts that piss people off tend to get the most engagement, so the algo pushes that crap more and more. It's a horrible cycle but company CEOs to their shareholders are all 👍 cos the engagement numbers are "good" 😩😩
