I’m planning on a week of activities in lessons to solve a crime! Each yr group will do an activity in a science lesson to work out some evidence. This will be added to a central evidence board across the week. Students will then need to use the evidence to say ‘whodunnit’ on Fri

I think my main issue is that I need time to properly look at all that’s out there and have a good play - and then see how it can fit into day to day teaching. For some of these you try it, and then never use it again as it creates more work than without!

ve been looking at lots of different programmes to see what I can find. @magicschoolai is great - lots of useful tools. notebook LM is good to create summary revision notes and the podcast it creates are amazing! (Haven’t had the time to actually listen all the way to check)

Easy sense have brought out a new range of sensors that looked pretty cool! Didn’t specifically see any microscopy. There were some cool drones that were £30

There were some tech for keeping an eye on students whilst on Chromebooks and might start using class dojo again with at least y7!

It was interesting doing the table talk and having a discussion about the use of AI - I wished I could have got to more talks but I think I probably would have done it in a morning or afternoon rather than a whole day

I went on the Friday! It was my first time - it was very interesting just to see all the developments coming through - a big focus on AI and how it can be used to support teaching

Nope not specific topics! In fact a range would be amazing as we link the articles to careers! That sounds very cool!

Y9 filled in some feedback for me and they said they did some of it in y8 history but they enjoyed the topic and the gruesome bits hahaha

I’ve written a SOW on the history of medicine that we are doing with y9 as one of the modules before we start GCSE - includes Arabian medics, women etc - students seem to have really enjoyed it (lots of blood and guts!!)

Yes!!!! Although it would be good not to rely on the tricky amylase experiment! I’ve started doing yeasty balls and catalase and it works brilliantly especially for foundation!

We start in Jan of y9 and teach the triple content to all students. Y9 don’t confirm options until March so after then we reset for triple where possible.
