Got a huge smile from one of my Black students today when I shared my first Spotlight in American History of Dorie Miller. This is why #BlackHistoryMonth and others like it exist. She got to see herself in history in a positive manner!

I just can't with Oklahoma Board of Education! The irony that forced patriotism is the very type of indoctrination they preach against is clearly lost on them!

The area where I grew up is in the fire zone. Friends I went to school with have lost their homes. There is so much devastation. It is unimaginable. #EatonFire #prayers #California #altadena #pasadena

I have a library of books that are about historical figures or events. When I cover content and have a book that fits, I'll read to my 11th graders! They love it! Read this book when teaching the 19th amendment. Yellow roses are a symbol from the story.

My school is getting a new auxiliary gym, and we got a tour today! It's going to be so nice!!! This shows the entrance and foyer between the main gym and the weight and dance rooms!
