My brother joined my class via Google Meet today, so, of course, I took a selfie of him onscreen and me standing in front of the screen to send to our parents. My students thought that was adorable.

My older brother's going to be a presentation judge for an upcoming APGOV assessment, which is going to be so much fun.

My teacher pals and I watched our students in the drama club’s fall play. They did “The Lion, the Witch, and the Wardrobe” and it was great! The world is tough right now. It was good to see these kids doing well onstage.

I’ve been thinking a lot about a new kind of polling I’d like to see. We have polling that measures public opinion, which is obviously important, but I’d love to see a little more empirical work on public knowledge: what do voters know about politics and policy?

Every time I teach my APGOV students about an aspect of the government, they ask a bunch of hypotheticals to try to figure out whether it can be broken/exploited/corrupted. That's telling about their political socialization.
