Escaped the bitter cold Northeast to find a red tide in Florida. With a warming Gulf of Mexico strengthening hurricanes, heavy rains and sewage runoff from Helene and Milton fed the algae causing red tide. Meanwhile, coastal development continues. Ignorance is not bliss.

Two days of tropical weather and rains earlier this week in the northeastern US washed out much of the snow, but it’s still a beautiful time to be out in nature when the air is brisk and the small ponds freeze up in early December.

At the end of the day, a good life is one that made the world a better place. Being with rural school educators today who braved snow and arctic cold speaks to their commitment to education and children.
