Fan of tennis, travelling, wine, and any combination thereof. Hoping to attend every Slam (4/4), WTA 1000 (6/10), ATP 1000 (6/9), and YE Finals (0/2) at least once.
Which is fair…too bad no shade for fans was factored into the multi million dollar renovation of the facilities.

Well, 100% sold out but many to scalpers. Who knows how many actually attended. Plus with all those renovations, But no/little shade for fans? Fans are clearly an afterthought at many of these tournaments.

Yeah but Cinci is one of the worst for selling all their tix to scalpers so they can say they’re “sold out”, while actual fans have to pay well above face value to get onto the grounds. Last year a rep for the tournament bragged to me about their dynamic pricing, and how much more tix would cost. 🤪

It’s ridiculous. Terrible for fans and players. Atmosphere will be totally different with way less going on around the ground. I think they’re having trouble selling tickets in Toronto, considering how many discount codes I’ve seen.

I completely agree. And in tennis, they play for themselves, not their country. It’s the media that makes it about nationalism.

Yeah, cause that’s how pro sports work. 🤣 If it was Serena double bageling someone, those same people would be calling her a queen and saying it’s iconic.

Yeah, I get it wasn’t him suggesting it, just having the discussion. But would any even casual fan wonder why a pitcher with perfect game doesn’t let the other team have one hit in the 9th? Of course not. I think he’s appealing to US fans who are upset a US player lost badly.
July 12, 2025 at 8:39 PM
If it was Coco or Aryna, or any American winning, or Iga losing, he would never have suggested giving a free game. How ridiculous. 🤡 I had to watch the final on mute because of the crazy US bias of the ESPN commentators.

Kudos for believing the midterms will be fair and free, and aren’t already determined.
July 3, 2025 at 8:45 PM
You’re right, if we’re only looking at the past few months. Looking at only last week, no one was as consistent as Pegula. Coco/Aryna aren’t even in the conversation. Pick a specific time period and you can argue anything. FYI, Iga has a higher win % than Coco so far in 2025 (77.1% vs 75.6%)
July 3, 2025 at 8:14 PM
lol yeah…Iga’s on her own until the other two can catch up to her achievements career-to-date.

True, but they were also doing everything for the first time ever, had no computers, and were held accountable by Congress.

The foreign carriers will come in on only the most profitable routes. Resulting in lower profitability on those routes, which AC/WJ will need to make up (raise fares) on routes that have less competition. Look for higher fares to the east coast, North, prairies. But lower (maybe) on Tor-Van/MTL.

Imagine if Nasa had this many explosions.... But if it's Musk, it's A-OK!
June 19, 2025 at 12:14 PM
I don't get it... What is the line where it becomes a default? Someone gets injured? The penalty should be for the action, not the result. And we need consistency across tournaments and players.
June 16, 2025 at 4:41 PM
Why do you think he's trying to take it over?
June 15, 2025 at 10:25 PM
At least the match was interesting. Most 3+ hr movies could easily cut 30-60 minutes without impacting the story.
June 8, 2025 at 8:03 PM
And either way... This level of "enrichment" is the new norm for a president (or any politician), and so far the country is ok with it.
June 8, 2025 at 7:00 PM
Exactly... That's a "grey" area.
June 8, 2025 at 6:57 PM
It's the fallacy that there has to be an explicit quid pro quo for it to be corruption. Corruption is rarely that black and white, because it's so much easier to get away with when it's a shade of grey.
June 8, 2025 at 6:46 PM
Absolutely. It's amazing how quickly the tennis journalism establishment stopped (or refused to) talk about that. As if they all were toeing the WTA line.
June 8, 2025 at 1:03 AM
At least you're not shying away from the American bias lol. 🤪
June 7, 2025 at 9:04 PM
100%. But she's the Golden child right now, so the WTA won't say anything. No player should be allowed to do that, where their grunt/screech extends well beyond the ball crossing the net.

Wow that sounds like a disaster waiting to happen. So hackers only need to break into one database instead of multiple?
