This is a pretty poor take. Your recommendation is to stifle local debate to appease some wannabe authoritarian? Why didn’t you counsel the protestors outside of the local ICE facility to stifle their protest for the same rationale?

I think it’s less about “amplitude” and more about the message. Democrats dominate the cultural “commanding heights”, media, academia, and tech until recently. It’s a bit like KMT and the Communists in 1940s China. Whatever the Dems (KMT) are selling, the populace isn’t buying.

Why repost an article from over two years ago?
I live in a “blue state” (Portland, OR) and I feel that my local & state gov’ts do a poor job on housing & economy but “deliver” on progressive cultural issues. Having not lived in a “red state”, I think they do the opposite. Was the red state pop boom a leading indicator on 2024 voter priorities?
