In 1975, I took the “Women in American Literature” class at ISU. I believe it was the first time it was offered. Being a senior level class there were only about 20 students. I’m sorry to say I was the only male. Why was that? Is it still like that?

I first recorded this 4 years ago today and hadn’t played it since. So I figured it out, rearranged it a bit, and here it is again. If you like this kind of music a young man named Hayden Pedigo is coming to town on Nov 24. He is better than me. youtu.be/v5trPCUIxj4?...

This poor heron has been standing in the same spot for over two hours. Hope he catches something.

A new instrumental I've entitled Fluid because it's gone through so many changes to get to this point and is likley to be a little different every time I play it.

My brother posted this a little over ten years ago when he played at something called the Rock Bend Folk Festival in St. Peter, MN, where he lived. www.youtube.com/watch?v=bzdg...

I’m currently working on a new instrumental but I like improvising on it so much I may never pin it down. Every time I play it I do something a little differently.

I first posted this nine years ago. Right now I wish things were a lot less tizzy.

I Didn’t Make It Home - it’s such a tragedy that the subject of this song keeps being repeated. I don’t know what the answer is but it’s more than just thoughts and prayers. youtu.be/dhNdFwDaZi0?...

More than anything I’ve composed in a long time, I find myself whistling this or singing it in my head. I may have posted it back in March when it was still a work in progress. This is the final version as of today. youtu.be/y2MeOJqlCgQ?...

Walked with Marty at ECP in the morning. Saw an owl there and listened to my YouTube channel, saw the Will Higgins Museum of Fabulosity at Tube Factory, talked history and books at Pen and Pink, got a lead on a possible Open Mic at Indy Type Shop, and a fancy dessert at Cafe Babette Indy (yummy.)

This is my grandmother and Uncle Chester standing in front of her grocery store 82 years ago. They moved from Indy a year or two later and all of these buildings were lost when I65 and I70 were built.

I’m trying to play my guitars and mandolins again. Supposed to be good for my brain. I’m thinking about some kind of looper that would allow me to do several tracks if anyone has a suggestion. Here’s “Out of the Darkness A Bell Rings.” youtu.be/Aa_Zo1VQhkE?...

I’ve long believed that the best Indy 500 related monument is in Knoxville, TN, and not in Indy. It depicts the tragic accident that Killed driver Pete Kreis and his riding mechanic. I saw it yesterday.

Today would have been my brother Bruce's 75th birthday. Here's a song he wrote about 50 years ago and recorded with a band, Whole Wheat, that played regularly at The Patio in Broad Ripple and also in Minneapolis. www.youtube.com/watch?v=sw90...

Today I took a tour that I developed (with help from others) and led for years. It was kind of like watching someone else raise one of your children. Fred did a great job and brought his unique perspective to the tour. (The tour picks from this Racing Legends Tour: crownhillhf.org/tours/racing... )
