Yeah it’s an odd one. I could sort of get my head around it if he was right footed but he’s another lefty so as you say will be right in that Nwaneri space. Unless there is a positional change in the offing?

It’s been 18 months of courting now with Williams, Sesko and Zubimendi, sign them or move on.

I think it’s good sign that our recruitment strategy positions specific players long in advance of transfer windows, gives us the best chance of getting the right players, hence I guess why the same names crop up again & again. That said, I would not wait another window for Sesko/Williams/Zubimendi

I’m at this same point with these two, just need to get one of them wrapped up early doors and move on

Please do one of Jover telling Declan to bend it in 😂

Seeing the footage pan to Nicholas Jover telling him to bend one in was almost as good! 😂

The injuries are obviously sad but part of football, the bad luck for me has been the cluster effect this season. When one defender goes down it’s usually around a time that others are missing. We’ve seen the same in attack. We’ve been stripped to the bone on multiple occasions this season.

I always used to get frustrated at the club for allowing Henry to grow out his hair, when he was clearly a superior player when he was clean shaven.

Given the start he had and the challenges he inherited that’s an impressive record

Agree, any disappointment was more aligned to a hangover of regret about how events have panned out this season. In the game I thought we largely dominated, were markedly better than the 3rd place team in the league, but just lacked a cutting edge which can be explained.

Perhaps it’s to create space for Calafiori to run inside, perhaps it drags defenders wide to create space in the box for Merino, but what that heat map tells me is that Trossard isn’t going to get enough chances to score, in a team that needs someone to score, & he’s one of our better box finishers
February 27, 2025 at 8:52 AM
I don’t know if it’s a shared frustration but as one of our better finishers I was screaming at him to run in behind, get into the box more to receive a pass. He seemed wedded to the touchline and constantly cutting back instead of driving into the box. Perhaps instructed but limits his threat
February 27, 2025 at 8:43 AM
Cannot fault the effort. Thought we controlled the game mostly, just understandably lacking cutting edge against one of the better defences in the league.

Was mulling this over and then I clicked on another link and saw this and it summed it up perfectly for me. Just a bunch of ex United/Liverpool players with an arrogant tone and innate bias purveying their ideas on the little clubs who play in their league.

I feel like in the short term we have an opportunity (clutching here) to become a bit difficult to figure out from the opposition perspective. If we can couple that with churning out clean sheets at the back we could still string some form together.
February 13, 2025 at 4:51 PM
Agree, we have to at least try and play Sterling into some sort of form before we go down the plan D route of re purposing players
February 13, 2025 at 8:20 AM
I was a gamble but my god this is awful luck too. I think we’re genuinely in free transfer territory.
February 12, 2025 at 1:20 PM
Appreciate that sounds silly now with Havertz injured but on Feb 1st Morata’s agent stating his player wants to play 15-20 games between now and the summer looks unrealistic. Might explain why we didn’t seem to follow up on a few initial enquiries. Just speculating 🤷
February 12, 2025 at 12:56 PM
Perhaps we couldn’t offer those players the terms they wanted. All being well Arteta is always going to favour playing his players (KH29, GM11, LT19) over a short term loan player. Those players listed were leaving their clubs looking to play games. Perhaps we weren’t confident we could offer that.
February 12, 2025 at 12:53 PM
Tierney LW, Nwaneri RW whipping in 100 crosses a game. Havertz, Merino, Gabriel just relentlessly box crashing. Could be fun? 😂

Having been through the new born phase recently it can be at best distracting, and potentially mentally & emotionally draining. Couple that with being a leader of a highly competitive sports team the guy is probably running on fumes. It’s clear to see though he’s giving everything but he will adapt
February 6, 2025 at 9:29 AM
We have been a really good team and in recent times, and still are, so I have been able to compartmentalise defeats like tonight’s as just not our night, but that’s now three straight defeats against Newcastle in similar fashion which is a worry. Why can’t we solve the problems they pose?

Captain without an armband at the moment. He’s been excellent again
