This press release is wild. Food (in)security is an ongoing issue in the US, whether the govt thinks it is or not. Go grab the past ones while you can: www.ers.usda.gov/publications...

I don't have the energy to see what that narrative review cites or fact check it. This little bit on chocolate (under Carbohydrates) did jump out at me though.
IDK, you think that implies chocolate consumption leads to violence? More like the opposite in my experience. 😂🥰🍫

Narrative, so nothing approaching gold standard evidence synthesis like SR, meta-analysis, etc. with this listed as methods. All I can do about the "search" methods is sigh deeply and wish I had a dollar for every sus search I see described in the literature.

That first link goes to this: www.cspi.org/resource/sci..., which has a link to the resource as PDF. Which, LOL doesn't load - instead you get "we can't open this file something went wrong"
Something went wrong indeed.

Oh no! #PubMed is giving an error for anything tagged [tiab] #medlibs Just perfect for a Monday.
And yes I tried many, many things before panicking (and writing the help desk). [tw] works, [all] works, [mh] and other tags seem okay - [tiab] is borked, even if you try it through search builder.

Am I on vacation? Yes. Do I still manage to do #medlibs adjacent things just for fun? Also yes. I spent 3 hours exploring the library and going through the amazing exhibits @wellcomecollection.bsky.social, zero regrets.

Today in #medlibs "MeSH things that make me sad/ rage": "Involuntary Fertility Control"[Mesh]
"Behavior that interferes with a woman's autonomous reproductive decision-making. Year introduced: 2018"
The specificity of women and that year. Ooof.

Fun fact: PubMed's new wildcard feature maxes out at 256 uses. Ask me how I know. #medlibs #expertsearching

Today in "well, that PubMed search did not go as expected": I was being lazy and didn't do my normal #medlibs level search with field tags, because I thought "how bad could this go wrong?" Reader, it went very wrong.
Another example of why relying on keywords stinks, with bonus patriarchy.

Y'all, I am a messy puddle of emotions. I had an unexpected package from Chewy that had a personalized message (1st pic) and hand painted portrait (!!! 2nd pic) of Boone, based on a 2018 pic (3rd) I uploaded to his profile. 4th pic is Boone today. 😭 This is the best thing ever.

I don't know who needs to hear this, but if you use AI (without quotes, without tags) as a search term in #PubMed intending to look for artificial intelligence literature, you're gonna have a bad time thanks to Automatic Term Mapping. #medlibs #ExpertSearching
