Roller derby announcer, dad, out-of-practice musician, podcast creator of Calling From Elm Lake, all-around performer, always trying to be better. He/him.
Making sure I’m understanding correctly that Hilton looked at positive press from one of their hotels (here in MN) doing the right thing and decided they’d rather cave to the fascists? Cool. Cool cool cool.

We are so fucked.

Since he isn’t running for reelection anymore, can Walz just make all ICE operations in MN illegal? That’s one definite way to protect our citizens and state.
January 5, 2026 at 8:58 PM
No politician is perfect but Walz has been damned good. He’s done a lot for MN.

I’m worried about what comes next and hoping that we don’t get someone who just wants to take a wrecking ball to all our progress.

It would be nice to wake up in a timeline that isn’t getting progressively darker…

I hope this Walz scoop is wrong. If it isn’t, I CERTAINLY hope any chances of Klobuchar stepping in are even MORE wrong.

What a surprise that right wingers are bending over backwards to justify the war crimes committed.

I’m shocked, I tells ya.

Delayed release by a bit but what is time when you really think about it? Find it where you find your podcasts!
Episode 90 is available in your feeds. If time is meaningless, find your meaning.

Just watched Together and found it thoroughly enjoyable. Until the last 5 minutes.

Psst.

Hey, come closer.

No, closer.

I have a New Year’s secret for you.

It’s this:

If you care about people you don’t even know, and try to live your life that way, you are absolutely beautiful no matter what you look like.

The new year can be a time of transformation. Just ask your neighborhood lycanthropes.

Not gonna lie, I keep expecting to get an email telling me my gig tonight has been dropped. And if that happens, I may scream (since I passed on another gig expecting this one).

Running an event tonight that will wrap up before 9pm. This totally frees me up for all the NYE kisses!

So naturally, I’m pretty sure I’ll be hiding at home at that point.

Tonight showed me a couple of things.

I know talented gorgeous people.

I’m VERY out of practice at just being in public. I used to be comfortable and it’s all gone.
December 28, 2025 at 5:29 AM
I am out. In public.

It’s weird.

If I can keep fighting through my social anxiety moment, I’ll actually head out to see a burlesque show tonight.

It’s been ages. But it would be good for me to go out.

Very tempted to post something whiny, but it’s winter melancholy time and it doesn’t help anyone, least of all me.
December 26, 2025 at 11:12 PM
To keep myself from being super melancholy at home, took myself out to a movie.

The new Anaconda is delightfully stupid.

Peaceful day with the kiddos, but now they have reunited with mom and I won’t see them again until Monday. Gotta fill my time somehow and not go a little crazy this time of year.

Today will be the first time my children try my chili. Hoping they dig it.

I also hope they never ask for the recipe. Because it changes every time, at least a little.

Every time I see someone espouse eggnog love, I wonder who hurt them.
December 22, 2025 at 9:04 PM
Best part about being a theater kid who honestly loves that I work for and with mostly women?

I didn’t get my face wrecked in boxing matches. And I don’t believe people would be cheering for that to happen to me.

Little dude’s birthday is tomorrow. He insisted on presents and birthday dinner today. I am not going to prevent this, because I love his excitement.

As of tomorrow morning, both my kids are double digits. That’s pretty cool.

Sometimes, the strangest paths carry the most truths. Find episode 89 (S4E11), out now!
Episode 89 tells the tale of the labyrinth. It also tells a tale far more and less important.

Keeping the spooky in the holidays with our story. Find it where you find your podcasts.

According to the redactions, apparently that orange guy didn’t even exist from 1980 until 2024.

Welp. Just found out that, after the next two weeks, my Wednesday nights free up. Sad to lose the venue, but this DOES mean I can go to my daughter’s band concert in a month!
