📢 Announcing the UK Tobacco Industry Interference Index 2025, part of the Global Tobacco Industry Interference Index.

The UK is ranked 17 out of 100 countries, based on evidence captured between April 2023 and March 2025.

New #research co-authored by Dr Raouf Alebshehy examines the sale of tobacco products near schools in Egypt, a country with an increasing tobacco market and significantly high smoking rates.

The study found tobacco products being sold within 100 metres at almost all schools studied.

In a new paper Tom Gatehouse, Karin Silver, Dr Raouf Alebshehy and Dr Mary Assunta from @seatca.bsky.social explain the methods used to produce the UK chapter of the Index.
