#Bluesky💙📚 Mick Herron, "London Rules." The slow horses of Slough House thwart ragtag North Korean terrorists. Funny as ever, here beautiful writing on London, passing time, the ebb and flow of the work day, the shortcomings of bright, ambitious, imperfect people saves a threadbare plot. ⭐⭐⭐.5

#Booksky💙📚 Mick Herron's Spook Street, fourth in the series celebrating the rejected spooks of Slough House, where MI5 warehouses failed agents. Smart, funny, clever, as usual, this sample tells us more of the sordid past of River Cartwright's grandpa, the Old Bastard, once a major spook himself.

#Booksky💙📚 Domenico Starnone, , The Mortal and Immortal Life of the Girl from Milan is a charming, short novel not so much about the girl who is not really from Milan but about the narrator, his aging, doting granny, Nonna and the Neapolitan dialect. Well worth the short read. ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐

#booksky💙📚 Tarjei Vesaas, The Ice Palace. A short poetic novel about two girls (11), sharing the beginnings of intimacy in a cruel, winter wilderness. They want to break through the ice of inhibition and self doubt. One escapes, the other is caught in the palace of ice, literally and figuratively.
